Welcome!
I’m excited that you’ve come to visit us and find out more about Succasunna UMC. If I can sum up what we’re about in a word, I think it’s passion – we are people who care deeply for the Lord Jesus Christ, for each other, and for the community around us. But even though we take our ministry seriously, I think you’ll find we don’t take ourselves too seriously. This is an exciting time of change and growth in the life of this congregation, and I hope you’ll decide to come and be a part of it. I look forward to welcoming you.
Grace and Peace, Rev. Joe Monahan, Pastor
What's New
Lent Begins February 17 - Join Us on the JourneyIf you want a more meaningful experience of Resurrection this Easter, then begin by keeping a holy Lent. We invite you to come and join us on the path of discipleship that Christians have walked for centuries. Ash Wednesday - February 17The arc of Lent begins with the admission of our brokenness on Ash Wednesday, one of the most solemn of all days in the Christian Year. We worship at 7:30pm in the sanctuary, and our worship includes the traditional imposition of ashes on our foreheads, symbolizing our mortality and sinfulness. Lenten Soup Suppers - "24 Hours that Changed the World"Our weekly Wednesday night program begins on February 24 with homemade soup at 6:30pm in our fellowship hall. This year, our study is Adam Hamilton's "24 Hours that Changed the World," a DVD-based program that explores the significance of the events of Jesus' final day. You'll gain new insights on the gospel, including holy sites associated with Christ's suffering, as you grow in faith. Soup suppers are held weekly during Lent (except Holy Week): Feb 24, Mar 3, 10, 17, and 24. A companion daily devotional is available for $5. Please contact the church office to reserve your copy.
