Small-Group Ministries for Adults
We offer several ways for adults to connect, learn, and grow together. We believe that relationships with other Christians in the small-group setting are key to spiritual maturity.
Sunday School: Our adult class meets each Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. We encourage adults to attend Sunday School as a means of continual spiritual growth and strength.
Short-term Bible Studies: We usually have at least two short-term Bible studies going on throughout the spring and fall. These give participants an opportunity to explore the meaning of the scriptures especially as they relate to personal growth and discipleship. During Lent we offer our Lenten Soup Supper/Study series, which is held on Wednesday evenings. The session begins with a light meal and is followed by Bible study.
Family Breakfast: Our United Methodist Men host a family breakfast gathering with guest speakers every third Saturday of each month starting at 8:00 am. These breakfast meetings are open to families and offer opportunities for fellowship and learning.
Men's Bible Study/Small Group: Meets weekly on Saturday mornings. This is an opportunity for men to wrestle with what it means to be a Christian in their homes, at work, and in the world.
Knitting Group/Prayer Shawl Ministry: We have about a dozen faithful knitters who enjoy fellowship, prayer, and service together every Monday evening. The shawls provide comfort to members and friends in need of care. Every one receives a special blessing from the group. From time to time, the group takes on special knitting projects to help people around the world. Every stitch a prayer!
SUMC Angels: This is our church softball team. This co-ed group welcomes folks who are part of this church already as well as new friends.
